Description
The Pondersosa Pine forests on the east slope of the Cascade Range thrive in a region of very little precipitation that primarily falls in the winter as snow. After the snow has melted, an abundant array of wildflowers grow in the open areas between the trees. This magnificent meadow of Lupine and Arrowleaf Balsamroot was found in Ainsley Canyon near the town of Thorp, Washington State, USA.
