The European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) is not native to North America but has become extremly common since its introduction to New York's Central Park in 1890. The original introduced flock of 60 birds has now spread throughout the continent. This starling was photographed in Edgewood, Washington State, USA.
Photographer Jeff Goulden has combined his lifelong passion for photography and his love of the natural world, creating a portfolio that reveals nature in its pure and simple beauty. Growing up in the Puget Sound region of Washington State gave Jeff the opportunity to pursue hiking, canoeing, backpacking, mountain climbing and other outdoor adventures.
