Description

Many of the lakes in Northern Arizona are ephemeral bodies of water. This means that during dry spells these lakes completely empty and turn into meadows of grasses and wildflowers. This picture of Lower Lake Mary was photographed just as the sun was setting, giving the dry lake a golden glow. Lower Lake Mary is in the Coconino National Forest south of Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
