Description
During the French and Indian war of 1753, a young George Washington traveled the wilderness of western Pennsylvania. On December 4 his party reached Venango (now Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA) where Washington met the famous French Indian agent Joncaire. This picture, taken at the confluence of French Creek and the Allegheny River, is where they met.
